Pipeño 2020

In the Vineyard: País vines that are more than 150 years old grown without technical irrigation, without rootstock and its origin corresponds to genetic material brought by the Spanish colonizers.

In the Winery: Grapes fermented in Raulí winepresses, a native wood from Chile, without oenological additions of any kind (natural wine). After a month, the wine is stored in pipes, hence the name Pipeño, from 450 to 950 liters. The wood of these pipes is also from Raulí, a traditional production in the Chilean countryside. They remain for 4 months, then they are bottled directly without any type of stabilization or filtration.

In the Palate: This is a rustic wine that tastes history, with wild red and black fruits and refined touches of micro-oxidation in old Rauli pipas (Chilean wood barrels). A wine that needs to be tasted by any wine lover.

Agrícola Estación Yumbel

Agricola wines are made in the traditional way of peasant production. The fundamental thing is the work of the vineyard seeking greater biodiversity. Fermentations are carried out in Raulí winepresses, a species native to Chile, and in jars, made with clays from the interior of the coastal mountain range. Both are now impossible to obtain because many years ago the masters stopped making them due to the incorporation of new winemaking techniques.

Chile Southern Region Dos

Although only officially instituted in 1994, wine elaboration in the valleys of Itata, Bio Bio and Malleco goes back several centuries, finding its roots in the Spanish colonization of the area and the grapes planted almost four centuries ago in this land. Chile has seen a transition to wines based on international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay over the last decades. This passed by eliminating about 75% of the old plantings of local varieties, such as the grape Pais. But the Southern region is leading the effort of recovering what it has been tradition among the Chilean "vinateros" (winemakers) for many generations, who focus their attention back to recovering centenary old vineyards that translate into outstanding and unique wines. About 2 thirds of the plantings are old vines of Muscat of Alexandria and País, and even Cinsault, which are now used to produce wines of high-quality and distinction, particular in plots managed under the dry-farming convention. In other words, without irrigation.
