In the Vineyard: Llopart Original 1887 was born with the desire to perpetuate the family winemaking traditions of the 19th century. It is made only with grapes from the oldest mountain vines from Les Flandes, including Montònega (Parellada from the mountains) 50% (vineyard del Ticu from 1935), Xarel·lo 25% (vineyard del Pere de Can Ros from 1934), and Macabeo 25% (vineyard de l’Isidoro from 1956)
In the winery: This sparkling wine has been made following the most traditional production method and aged over 9 years before disgorgement that converts it in an outstanding product
In the palate: Llopart Original 1887 has a great aromatic depth of ripe white fruit, honey ... with a notable presence of brioche, toasted, butter and nuts notes. It has a powerful taste, rounded acidity, and it is very broad
The Producer
Bodegas Llopart
According to a document written in Latin and dated 1385, a Llopart family’s ancestor, Bernardus Leopardi, was granted some vineyards located in the present country estate Can Llopart de Subirats. Over the following centuries the Llopart family combined the cultivation of traditional agricultural Mediterranean products: grapevine, wheat and olive. At the end of the XVIII century the Lloparts decided to devote themselves exclusively to wine growing. The secular dedication to vine cultivation, elaboration and wine growing reaches its turning point, after intense testings, with the production of the first sparkling Wine Llopart bottles at the old country house cellar in 1887. In the early 1950s, Pere Llopart i Vilarós gave his cellars a new drive. He actively contributed in launching the “craft sparkling wine” and consolidated cava Llopart as a high quality product. Llopart was part of the founding members of the Corpinnat classification that dedicate to the elaboration of sparkling wine in a limited area of the Penedes region under high standards of quality.
