The Wine
La Planeta 2015
In the Vineyard: Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on the highest-altitude vineyard at the foot of the Montsant mountain range. Called La Planeta because it is an unusually flat small vineyard plot within the very irregular orography of Priorat, the cooler temperatures achieved by altitude and soils coming from erosion of the mountain, rather than the typical Licorella of Priorat, makes Cab Sauvignon grapes to beautifully adapt here.
In the winery: A 35-day fermentation at moderately low temperatures and ageing on French oak for 34 months make this a complex and structured wine.
In the palate: This is an elegant and refined wine based on Cabernet Sauvignon and accompanied with Garnacha (20%) that displays exceptionally high quality, intensity of aromas with black fruit, licorice and forest notes, high complexity and a long finish.

Celler Pasanau is a small family winery in the Priorat DO dedicated to the elaboration of wines with personality that show the character of the vineyards from which they come. Soils of Licorella and sandstone soils coming from the erosion of the conglomerate mother rocks of the Sierra de Montsant provide the setbed for wines of outstanding quality and personality. Pasanau aims at expressing the terroir and the grape on each of its wines. The Pasanau family has a long history of wine elaboration that started prior to the phylloxera attack that occurred more than one hundred years ago. They base our wine elaboration on organic farming and utmost attention to the vineyard. They use mules to work the terrains.
