The Wine
Vientos del Pueblo Rosé 2021
In the Vineyard: Wine made in the traditional way claretes (rose) have been made in Arlanza for centuries based on manual harvesting of the grape coupages commonly found in centenary old vineyards, with a dominance of red varieties, mainly Tempranillo, and 30% of the autochthonous white varieties Albillo Mayor and Viura.
In the winery: Fermented in 4-year old French oak barriques and halted right before completion to provide a gentle frizzante spirit, then aged on its lees for 5 months in stainless steel vessels.
In the palate: A fresh and vibrant style with excellent aromatic complexity of red fruits with plenty of tension, lenght and personality. 13.5% ABV.

Andrés Septien, winemaker and owner of this small production winery, focuses on the development of a variety of wine styles based on grapes from the very old coupages found in centenary vineyards of Arlanza. From fresh and delicious claretes (rosés) made in the way they been made in the area for centuries, to his sophisticated white and red Boticario de Silos, where extreme attention to quality in the vineyard tasks and in the winemaking lead to extraordinary wines with an atlantic spirit that count among the very few examples of the distinct character of the Tempranillo grape when grown at high altitudes, in one of the coldest winemaking regions in Spain. He also experiments with other styles, such as orange wine (white Albillo fermented with skins).

Fantastic rose - different!
This wine is fantastic! Its not a Rose but it is a Rose Colored Wine. Full of light red fruit. Strawberry eucalyptus and slight flowery notes. Beautiful and fizzy

A field blend of Tempranillo, Albillo and other varieties fermented in stainless steel. Pouring a beautiful vivid pink with an expressive nose with layers of fresh raspberry, melon, and peach skins interwoven with fresh herbs and a perfect touch of struck match reduction. Some flowers which I guess come from the white grapes in the coupage. Textural, fresh and refined on the palate which brings blood orange and rhubarb accents. Lovely long finish. A serious, delicious wine with a fizzy touch. I love the wax neck and the poem. Also great packaging and service. Came with dry ice and still fresh after 2 days of delivery

Like childhood years
I was born in the area where this wine is made and it reminds of childhood years when I went down the underground caves the grandpa of my parents' friend had. Red wine that is like rose and that they call clarete. As soon as I opened it transported me to those days. What a experience! A bit pricey but pleased to have purchased. This winemaker has more that I have to try

Oh wow, this is the Rose I like. This has an oomph! Vivid pink with slight fizzy character. Nose is med+ with strawberry and raspberry coulis. Palate has touch of watermelon and bubblegum, followed by lime and grapefruit with sweet spices. Absolutely fabulous! This style of rose I never tried. Nice surprise with the perks inside the box, pourer, stoppers...

Crisp
What a wonderful rosé. It is much more powerful than your average rosé but still fresh and crisp. med+ intensity, peach, raspberry, strawberry. Dry, although with a scent of residual sugar. Med body & alcohol. High acidity. Pronounced, bubblegum, lime, white blossons, watermelon, red fruit compote, grapefruit.
