The Wine

In the Vineyard: Fariña's premium wine. A limited production, terroir-driven wine made from 100% Tinta de Toro from pre-phyloxera, hand-picked, bush vines up to 140 years old.
In the winery: A wine made in the vineyard! Old Vines from 50 - 140 years old. Maceration for up to 25 days. Fermentation at 30 - 32ºC in stainless fermentation tanks before undergoing malolactic fermentation in 16,000l wooden tanks. 15 months in new premium French and American oak.
In the palate: A muscle bound yet elegant, modern Tinta de Toro full of complexity and everything that Toro has to offer. Intense fruit flavors (cherry, red berry fruits) with violets, spice and liquorice blended seemessly together with vanilla, smoke and tobacco notes.

The Producer
Bodegas Fariña
A family winery attached to the land and their roots. Proud of their legacy and having always supported their area, choosing to stay in Rueda when there was still so much left to do. Manolo Fariña, founder of the denomination of origin Toro, and his son, Manuel, run this winery with a traditional spirit. They cultivate over 300 hectares of their own vineyards, where they practice modern, sustainable, and technological winegrowing, with the aim of achieving maximum quality from the local variety, Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo), and focusing the production of each plot towards different wines with their own personality. With his awarded Gran Colegiata wine, Manolo Fariña provided Toro a highly visible status in the international stage that has not lost to this date.
