The Wine
San Martín 2018
In the Vineyard: Grapes from special and steep vineyards cultivated strictly under the 100% organic certification guidelines. Manual harvest early in the morning and grapes transported in small boxes to ensure that Godello arrives to the winery in the best conditions.
In the winery: Spontaneous fermentation in French barrels of 500 liters and an ageing process of 12 months. The wine is left on its lees for a period of time to impart structure and sophisticated aromatics. A final maturation period of two years in bottle rounds this high quality wine.
In the palate: The Godello variety ages to become a fine, elegant and mineral wine that keeps all the freshness in the mouth. Patisserie flavors intertwine with the intense aromatics of the Godello grape in a nuanced bouquet that ends with a long, bitter and beautiful finish.

Bodegas Prada a Tope
His name is José Luis Prada Méndez, but always ask for Prada. He's been called crazy many times, as many times as they’ve said his dreams wouldn't come true. Later they changed their word choice to 'prophet'. Prada´s phylosophy is clear: To respect nature without chemical products or fertilizers so that each harvest is different, marks the character of the climatic year, and endures once the wine is uncorked. In the vineyards surrounding the antique restored Palace of Canedo and in others located nearby but at a higher altitude to make better use of the daytime and to avoid excess humidity, they cultivate the varieties that have put the El Bierzo wines on the map: red Mencía and white Godello.
