In the Vineyard: The basic grape is Tempranillo (95%) from Las Cuevas, el Palo and Las monjas vineyards in Rodezno, complemented with 5% Graciano from the Montecillo state in Fuenmayor
In the winery: Grapes sorted with an optical laser scanning system for optimization of the selection of the best berries on arrival to the winery. Only those wines selected after natural fermentation (this wine is not made every year) are matured in for 3 years )Gran Reserva) in American oak barrels with an average age of 4.5 years and made by the in-house coopers
In the palate: An aromatically complex wine with a variety of characteristics, including red and black fruits, pastry, coffee, caramel, cedar, vanilla na d cinamon. Polsihed in the palate with a refined structure, a delicate mouthfeel and a long lingering finsih. Profesional ratings: J.S. 95pts - T.A. 94pts

Rioja Alta S. A. combines the wisdom of tradition and the state of the art in wine elaboration techniques. This reference winery elaborates classic Rioja wines that rank among the most recognized of the denomination. They base their production on a careful selection of their grapes and maturation in American oak barrels, which confers their wines with the most traditional character expected from Rioja wines. But they also produce wines in a more modern styles, while still racking wine from barrel to barrel at the light of a candle.
