Dry Riesling Margrit 2021
In the Vineyard: A single vineyard Riesling from the Seneca Lake Estate vineyard named after Willy Frank’s wife Margrit, a woman in the Frank family known for her enthusiasm for life and fierce devotion to her family.
In the winery: The fermentation is done under controlled low temperatures and every elabration step is taken care of to the finest details to ensure the highest quality of the final product.
In the palate: Dry, rich, and seductive. The riper vineyard site expresses tangerine, grapefruit, and candied lemon zest balanced with mineral notes of shale and wet stones. The mouthfeel is round and rich with enough acidity to cut through. Pair with Swordfish (Lightly Grilled), Bratwurst, Pork Chops (Simply Prepared), Summer Fruits, Salmon (Raw, Poached), Scallops, BBQ.
The Producer
Dr. Konstantin Frank
Four generations strong, the Frank family has been leaders of grape growing and winemaking throughout the Finger Lakes. Their estate vineyards on Keuka Lake represent the oldest Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir vines in the Eastern United States. They are known for producing highly acclaimed traditional method sparkling wines, crisp and aromatic white wines, and rich red wines. The family founder, Dr. Konstantin Frank, ignited the “Vinifera Revolution” a movement that forever changed the course of wine growing in the Finger Lakes and the United States. Dr. Frank’s vision, knowledge and determination are credited with elevating the New York wine industry from a state of happy mediocrity to a level that today commands world attention.
