Weis Blaufränkisch 2021
In the Vineyard: Blaufränkisch, also known as Lemberger in Germany, is a grape that has adapted particularly well to the Finger lakes.
In the winery: Fermented in three separated batches that undergo slightly different elaboration processes, including aging in oak barrels of different age and characteristics, that are blended in the end to achieve the best expression that this grape variety has to offer.
In the palate: This is a beautiful varietal full of fruit and spice! It showcases a medium body with subtle notes of plum and blackberry on the nose, and a light spice on the finish. The body style lends itself to dishes with lighter meats, tomato and vinegar-based sauces, and hard cheeses.
