The Wine
Choapa Cordilleramar Muscat Blend 2019
In the Vineyard: Pedro Ximenez, Muscat of Austria (as Torrontés is called in Chile), and Muscat of Alexandria grapes grown in parrals of high altitude (700-1000 meters) that had been used for decades in the elaboration of Pisco spirit.
In the Winery: Each grape fermented and treated independently for a final blend looking to add complexity, intensity and length.
In the Palate: Elegant terpene notes from Pedro Ximenez, complexed by notes of graphite and minerals from Torrontés. Finally elegant tropical aromas delivered by Muscat of Alexandria. This is a very well balanced wine with vertical acidity, unctuous and with great volume in the mouth.
The Producer
Viña Choapa
Located in the town of Panguesillo, Salamanca, in the Choapa Valley (Coquimbo - Chile), Viña Choapa is located in the narrowest area of the country, between minerals and mountains. Its history is born from a family tradition, for decades in the cultivation and production of grapes destined to decorate wines and piscos. After years of testing and perfecting, the need for a new step arose, building in 2013 a winery with unique characteristics in the area.
