In the Vineyard: A wine based on Hondarrabi Zuri grapes (85%) complemented with Chardonnay (15%) in a sophisticated coupage from parral vineyards more than 100 years old.
In the winery: Extreme care is placed on the top of the game wine of the Gaintza winery. Stays in contact with its lees for 12 months and matures in the bottle for another year before being released to the market.
In the palate: Extremelly sophistiated and long-lived, this is a wine with a complex aromatic structure, substantial body and intensity, excellent to accompany greasy dishes or Asian cuisine.

Gaintza has a long and proud history. Four generations of the Lazkano family have prepared, produced and distributed txakoli. The family great-grandfather José Antonio already made txakoli—for family consumption and sale in neighbouring villages—from their vines in the Golindo country house. From 1923 when the Gaintza cellar was set up through to the latest extension in 2012, they have undergone constant transformation with an eye to the future. Their are passionate about traditions and strive to adapt them to the 21st century by uniting modern technology with more traditional production methods.
