Spain Basque Txakoli DOs

Until the 1980s, txakoli was a home-made wine, drunk in the Basque Country, Cantabria and Valle de Mena, and almost in danger of extinction around the middle of the 19th century. But txakoli has become a vibrant wine of many styles, traditional and modern, since some txakoli areas in the Basque Country managed to be recognized as denominations of origin in the late 20th century. There are three Txakoli DOs that are covered in this documentary: Getariako Txakolina, Bizkaiko Txakolina, and Arabako Txakolina.
