The Wine
Gaintza Rosés 2021
In the Vineyard: A coupage of Hondarrabi Belta (red) Hondarrabi Zuri (white) grapes from old vineyards (40-50 years old) trained in high parrales characteristic of Getaria Txakolina DO.
In the winery: Elaborated at low controlled temperatures following ancestral practices in the family, not letting all the carbonic scape during fermentation, and leaving the wine in contact with its lees for 4-5 months.
In the palate: This is a wine that rosé lovers should try at least once in a lifetime as its fizzy nature makes the red and white fruity aromas to explode in the palate, making the taster to come back to it.

Gaintza has a long and proud history. Four generations of the Lazkano family have prepared, produced and distributed txakoli. The family great-grandfather José Antonio already made txakoli—for family consumption and sale in neighbouring villages—from their vines in the Golindo country house. From 1923 when the Gaintza cellar was set up through to the latest extension in 2012, they have undergone constant transformation with an eye to the future. Their are passionate about traditions and strive to adapt them to the 21st century by uniting modern technology with more traditional production methods.
